What to do when you don’t want to do the things that you must do?

Friends and fellow lurkers, ask me anything and I’ll try to answer it if I can. Isn’t this a good way to have daily prompts? ๐Ÿ˜€ Keep your questions coming. ๐Ÿ™‚

I don’t know if it’s just the “holiday feeling” that got me going nuts. I love my work and my team mates (I’m soooo lucky to be working with an awesome bunch) but I feel like I am dragging myself to get up in the morning. I want to have some extra hours of sleep or just laze around all day. Can y’all relate?

So, I took some time to stretch and then lie down to rest after the mini workout. I don’t feel like getting up but I should and I did because of these reasons:

  1. I told myself that it’s much harder if I am not earning money (Freelancing is OK, so please don’t feel small if you are a freelancer. Any other legal job that puts food on the table is great, we are not terrorists!)
  2. I think about my sunshine who happens to be my baby. This is self-explanatory. ๐Ÿ˜€
  3. This is a contract job. This will end soon so I might as well work and enjoy the ride!

Whatever your reason is, it is valid! I wish you well and I hope you’ll try to do the things that you must do, even one step at a time! ๐Ÿ™‚

My answer to the question above is simply to get up and don’t get down, after you’ve done some rituals to get yourself moving. We all have different reasons why we don’t want to get up or do stuff and it’s harder if you are experiencing depression, a downturn or a situation that you don’t feel like it.

I salute you for getting up, for getting by and most of all, for trying to live through the day. Sometimes, the This too shall pass adage doesn’t work but it is a great reminder that not all things in life are permanent. Well, 2020 is almost a week from now! Cheers to a great year ahead! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Why You Should Find Time to Do What You Love

We are all busy. We all get overwhelmed at one point or another. We have lots of things to do and even if we prioritize, chances are, it looks like time is never enough. True, but we could always find time to what we love if we really want to. For me, I always find time to write (blog, journal and snail mail). I do this before sleeping or upon waking up for at least 5 to 15 minutes. At least, I have 15 happiest minutes of my life before the day ends! ๐Ÿ˜€

Writing, like any other passion and hobby, takes time and dedication. Be it dancing, gardening, fencing, skydiving or whatever you think you would do, it’s going to take a bit of your time if not too much. But this is the only moment where time stops. This is the time when you feel very fearless because you are in your own element. You are doingย what you love the most and you deserve it. You deserve good times in this lifetime.

Parents and people who dedicated their time taking care of other people can have an excuse to this. But if you’re doing otherwise, basically there’s no excuse not to do what you love doing. Life is too short to be stuck in something that you don’t like to do. Having a work that you don’t love but gives you money is another story but most people do it to survive. However, if you can have the work of your dreams, go ahead and take it. If it’s hard to find, do something to achieve it and be open to other stuff as well.

At the end of the day, we all feel tired and used up. But if we do what we do best which is also the one thing that weย like doing, we’d feel fulfilled even when we’re exhausted to death. Remember, one of the good ways to be fulfilled and happy is to do what you love. We are still alive so the good thing is, we still have this wonderful chance to do what we love doing. Let us not miss this wonderful chance.

If we don’t find time to do what we love, we will never find it. ๐Ÿ™‚
