Why You Should Find Time to Do What You Love

We are all busy. We all get overwhelmed at one point or another. We have lots of things to do and even if we prioritize, chances are, it looks like time is never enough. True, but we could always find time to what we love if we really want to. For me, I always find time to write (blog, journal and snail mail). I do this before sleeping or upon waking up for at least 5 to 15 minutes. At least, I have 15 happiest minutes of my life before the day ends! 😀

Writing, like any other passion and hobby, takes time and dedication. Be it dancing, gardening, fencing, skydiving or whatever you think you would do, it’s going to take a bit of your time if not too much. But this is the only moment where time stops. This is the time when you feel very fearless because you are in your own element. You are doing what you love the most and you deserve it. You deserve good times in this lifetime.

Parents and people who dedicated their time taking care of other people can have an excuse to this. But if you’re doing otherwise, basically there’s no excuse not to do what you love doing. Life is too short to be stuck in something that you don’t like to do. Having a work that you don’t love but gives you money is another story but most people do it to survive. However, if you can have the work of your dreams, go ahead and take it. If it’s hard to find, do something to achieve it and be open to other stuff as well.

At the end of the day, we all feel tired and used up. But if we do what we do best which is also the one thing that we like doing, we’d feel fulfilled even when we’re exhausted to death. Remember, one of the good ways to be fulfilled and happy is to do what you love. We are still alive so the good thing is, we still have this wonderful chance to do what we love doing. Let us not miss this wonderful chance.

If we don’t find time to do what we love, we will never find it. 🙂

Power of Touch Through Giving Love

Even if there are no words spoken, the power of touch transcends care and compassion. This blue jacket is one of the things I have put inside the relief goods bag that I have donated last month to Typhoon Haiyan victims. The jacket has a soft texture and is nice to touch.

I hope the recipient would feel being taken cared of and special when he/she gets this because this jacket is one of my favorite items (because of the color). Some folks say that we should not give our favorite items especially if it is sentimental to us or it has a special meaning. But knowing that the recipient could use and appreciate it more than I do, I did not have second thoughts of giving it right away. Also, we should be giving/donating gifts that are still useful and presentable. Many people donate stuff that are really old and damaged and this is a big mistake. Because of such gestures, the true meaning of giving is lost. When we give something, it should be given out of love.

Necessities On A Deserted Island

If there are only five items to bring on a deserted island, I would have to bring the following:

  • Big tent or tarp – this will serve as my protection from the heat
  • Water bottle with filter – for a clean drink anytime
  • First aid kit – self-explanatory
  • Knife – for safety? hahaha! 🙂
  • Friend – so I will never be bored and if I die, at least we die together 😀

Too bad, I can only bring five items. But if I have to bring only one, I’d bring my friend. 😀

Functional Gifts

Even if there is no occasion, I still love giving gifts or cool stuff to people, especially to friends and family. Some may mistake that such gesture is show-off or over the top but if done with love, care and effort, the gifts would be genuine on its own. Around 18:00, I typed functional gifts in the search box and browsed through the links. Countless choices of things and other related topics are displayed. To my amusement, until now I cannot decide what to buy! Time check, it’s already 23:03! 🙂

If all else fails and you are too busy to buy them gifts, give them a gift certificate or a free meal. Above all, we could just offer these wonderful people a help, favor, prayer, hug or a sweet smile. While those gifts may be free of charge, brightening up someone else’s day is definitely priceless. A funny photo of you would not hurt or a surprise getaway would be undeniably awesome! Indulge!

P.S. It was my first time ordering a gift online and sending it to an old friend from a very faraway land. Delivery time is two weeks. I am more excited than my friend I think (since I love first times!)… hmm.. 🙂 I just hope these friends are not reading this post. 😀

As for me, I treat myself to good food (since I’m a sloth and don’t have to cook) and music from iTunes. Should I list my wish list here? Hahaha! 😀 Music check, it’s What You Wanted by One Republic.

How about you, what gifts or treats would you like to receive? A new job perhaps? Nah, I’m just kidding. 😀

Make a Letter to Yourself

I do not know what to write so I consulted Plinky. Plinky suggested that I should write myself a letter in twenty (20) years. To be honest, I like writing letters to people but I do not like the idea of writing a letter to myself. But, there is something that I really like to do. I love writing lists. So, I will write to myself in the form of a list. Logical, right?!

My Endeared Lurker (that’s what I call myself),

I hope that you will always be a grateful person by always thanking and thinking that you have all these:

  • Life
  • Loved ones
  • Health
  • Food
  • Shelter
  • Clothing
  • Music
  • Writing
  • Adventures
  • Experiences
  • Trials
  • Nature
  • Work
  • God
  • And a lot more.

I have a list in my notebook about the things you should be grateful but I am too lazy to type. I also hope that you will learn to love yourself more and continue to inspire people through whatever medium that you are going to use. Always remember that you only have one life to live so don’t you dare waste it!

My dear reader, I hope my grateful letter inspired you. I do believe that by being thankful, we create magic inside of us. That magic will spring a lot of hope and love that we can sprinkle to other people especially those lost souls. Let us spread some inspiration! 🙂

Note: I am sick while writing this letter. It just made the letter all the more special because I do appreciate my health more. I rarely get sick so I do not like this feeling of weakness but it sure taught me a valuable lesson.
